Best Fencing for Agricultural Land

Which wire mesh is best for agricultural land boundary fencing?

Short answer: GI barbed wire (kanta tar) in 12 or 14 gauge is the most economical choice for large fields. Use GI hexagonal mesh for orchards and vegetable farms.
For agricultural land boundaries, two products are most commonly used. GI Barbed Wire (also called kanta tar) in 12 or 14 gauge, 4" barb spacing is the most economical option for large perimeters - 2 to 3 strands on wooden or concrete posts is standard for field fencing across Bengal and the Northeast. For orchards and vegetable farms where you need to keep out animals without allowing predators to enter, use GI hexagonal wire mesh 2" aperture, 19 gauge, height 1.2m to 1.5m. For paddy fields in flood-prone areas, use galvanized chain link 1.5m height as it survives temporary submersion better than barbed wire. Tata Wiron brand barbed wire is ISI marked and preferred for large agricultural projects.
